The Shape of Letting Go explores the difficult space between holding on and finally allowing something to leave.

The figure moves through a landscape that feels both physical and psychological, suggesting the way memory can remain present long after an experience has ended. The path becomes symbolic of transition, while the reflected water introduces a second version of the scene—one shaped by what has been carried internally.

The work is about release without erasure. Letting go does not mean forgetting, denying, or diminishing what happened. It means changing the relationship to it. What once felt fixed begins to loosen. The emotional weight remains part of the story, but no longer has to define the direction forward.

There is an intentional tension between movement and reflection. The figure continues ahead, yet the mirrored surface below suggests that parts of the past still travel with her. The act of letting go becomes less about leaving everything behind and more about learning what no longer needs to be carried in the same way.
