Born Between Worlds explores the space between protection and transformation.
Suspended within a luminous sphere above dark reflective water, the winged figure appears caught between realms—as though she belongs neither fully to earth nor entirely to the unseen. The sphere becomes both shelter and boundary, holding her in a moment of stillness before change.
The work reflects on those periods in life when something within us is shifting, but has not yet fully taken form. The figure’s posture suggests vulnerability and inwardness, while her wings hint at a quiet strength already present. She is not fixed in one state or another, but held in the tension between what has been and what is beginning to emerge.
Surrounded by darkness, stars, and reflection, Born Between Worlds considers transformation as a suspended state—one that can feel uncertain, private, and deeply formative. Rather than portraying change as dramatic or immediate, the work focuses on the quieter experience of becoming: when identity softens, the familiar begins to fall away, and a new sense of self is still gathering shape.
Created from photography and layered digital composition, the work is produced on archival canvas and individually finished with hand-painted acrylic interventions, giving each piece a distinct physical surface, depth, and presence.
