Artist Statement

What happens when survival is no longer enough?

In Beyond the Habit of Survival, the shattered glass portal becomes a symbol of the moment old patterns begin to break. The figure stands at the edge of a new horizon, facing the possibility of a life no longer shaped by fear, limitation, or repetition.

The fractured circle represents the habits, thoughts, and physical cycles that once kept her contained. They were familiar, but they were not freedom. As the glass breaks open, it becomes both an ending and an invitation—a threshold into a more conscious way of being.

This piece speaks to the courage it takes to choose change not once, but daily. To move beyond survival mode means reshaping the mind, the body, and the life that surrounds you. It is the moment you stop repeating what kept you safe and begin stepping toward what makes you whole.

It invites the viewer to ask:
What old pattern are you finally ready to break through?
